Recent projects

Finished and photographed

Shot on site as each one wrapped. Houses, refits, garden rooms and working units.

Replacement consumer unit with individual RCBOs and a surge protection device
Replacement board finished and closed up: a protective device on every circuit, surge protection at the end of the row and each way marked before the cover went back.
EV charge point on a rendered wall with the lead coiled
Charge point on a rendered gable. One vertical drop into the duct — no cable wandering across the elevation.
LED strip lighting concealed under a timber stair handrail
Strip tucked beneath a handrail. Light lands on the treads and the fitting never shows.
Recessed downlights across a newly plastered open-plan ceiling
Downlights marked out across a knocked-through kitchen, spacing agreed on site before anything was cut.
First fix wiring through floor joists with circuits chalked on brickwork
First fix on a stripped-back house. Every circuit chalked onto the brickwork and agreed with the owner before a single cable went through the joists — cheaper to move a line in chalk than a socket in plaster.
Warm LED plinth lighting under kitchen units
Plinth run down a full kitchen, set back far enough to wash the floor rather than spot it.
Bollard lights lighting a block paved driveway at dusk
Bollards down a new drive on one outdoor circuit, switched by photocell rather than a timer.
Sockets, light and a small consumer unit inside a garden room
Garden room on armoured cable with its own small board, sockets and a light inside.
Wall lights and mirrors being installed during a washroom refurbishment
Mirror lighting and extract on a washroom refit, wired in alongside the tilers rather than holding everyone up waiting for a clear run at the room.
LED batten lighting across the ceiling of a commercial workshop
LED battens through a working unit, hung clear of the gantry and sheeted so the sprayers underneath could keep going while we were overhead.
Infrared patio heater fixed to brickwork under an awning
Infrared heater and festoon over covered outdoor seating for a hospitality client.
Close view of a finished consumer unit with dressed cabling
Board up close. Nothing bunched or left long, so the next fault can be followed properly.

Why us

Told straight, done properly

A phone answered by somebody who does the work, and a price you hear before anything starts.

Hills

Built for the terrain

Half of Sheffield is on a slope, which means cellars at the front, gardens above your head and meter positions in places no designer would choose. Cable routes here take planning, not guesswork.

Clear

A figure before we begin

You hear the price before anything is switched off. If the wall comes down and something unexpected is behind it, we stop and talk rather than adding it quietly to the bill.

Fast

Faults ahead of fitting

A booked job can move by a day. A house with no power, or a board that drops every time it's reset, cannot. Those come first and you're given a real time, not a window.

Written

You get the readings

Circuits identified, tested and labelled, with a plain explanation of what we found — including things you didn't ring about but ought to know.

Stone

Old walls handled properly

Solid stone and rubble-filled walls can't be chased like modern block. We plan the run first, cut once, and take the debris away with us.

Any

Half-hour jobs taken on

A single dead socket, a fan that's stopped, one light that flickers. We'll come out for it and you'll be charged for what it actually was.

Across the city

Where the work comes from

The four searches that bring most Sheffield enquiries to us.

Electrician Sheffield

We cover the whole city, from the terraces climbing out of Walkley and Crookes to the newer estates at Mosborough and the stone houses on the Peak fringe. Most weeks are a mix of owner-occupied houses, rented flats and small business premises, and the same electricians do all three rather than passing you around.

Emergency Electrician Sheffield

The house gone dark, an RCD dropping the instant it goes back up, a socket browning at the edges or a hot smell drifting off the board. Ring and describe it — we'll tell you what to pull out before we arrive and give you a straight answer on timing. Steep streets with nowhere to park are just Tuesday for us.

EV Charge Point Installer Sheffield

What the incoming supply will carry decides a lot, so that gets checked first. Then a circuit of its own out to the charger, positioned where the lead reaches the car without being stretched over a step or a wall. Sheffield throws up plenty of sloping drives and split-level parking, so we'd rather see it than guess.

Landlord EICR Sheffield

With two universities the city runs on rented property, and every let needs a satisfactory report renewed at least every five years. We inspect, code anything wrong by how serious it is, explain it without the jargon and price repairs separately so you can decide. Portfolios and HMOs scheduled around tenant access.

FAQs

Things worth knowing

Do you cover emergency call-outs in Sheffield?

Yes, and they take priority over booked work. A house with no supply, a breaker that refuses to stay up, a scorched socket or a hot smell near the board all count. Ring 0114 463 0369 and describe what you can see — we'll tell you which switch to pull before we set off, then give you a straight arrival time rather than a four-hour window.

Which parts of Sheffield do you work in?

The whole city and its edges — Crookes, Walkley, Hillsborough, Broomhill, Nether Edge, Sharrow, Heeley, Woodseats, Meersbrook, Gleadless, Handsworth, Darnall, Attercliffe, Firth Park, Shiregreen, Stannington, Fulwood, Dore, Totley, Bradway, Mosborough and Halfway. Out to Chapeltown, Ecclesfield, Stocksbridge, Oughtibridge, Dronfield, Killamarsh and the villages towards the Peak as well.

My house is on a hill with a cellar — does that complicate things?

It changes the routing more than the work. Sloping plots mean the cellar is often at the front and level with the street, the garden sits above the back bedroom, and the meter can end up somewhere awkward. The upside is that cellars and lofts usually give a clean run between floors, so a rewire here can disturb less plaster than in a flat-plot house.

What will it cost?

It depends entirely what it is. Small, well-described jobs we can put a figure on over the phone. Rewires, board changes and anything in an older house where we can't see what we're inheriting, we come and look first — quoting those blind helps nobody. The number is agreed before work starts either way.

I let out a student house — what do I need?

A satisfactory Electrical Installation Condition Report for each let property, renewed at least every five years, with a copy to tenants. If it's a licensed HMO the council will want to see it as part of the licence too. We can work around term dates and changeover weeks, which usually matters more to landlords here than the price does.

Can you fit an EV charger on a steep or shared drive?

Usually, but it needs looking at. A slope changes where the lead will naturally sit and whether it'll reach the car's socket at all, and a shared drive needs an agreement with whoever else uses it. What we won't do is run a cable across a public footpath. Describe the parking on the phone and we'll give you a straight answer.

What happens during an EICR?

Everything fixed in the building gets inspected and tested — the board, the circuits behind the walls, sockets and lighting, and the earthing and bonding arrangements. You get a written verdict of satisfactory or unsatisfactory with any problems graded by seriousness. We translate the grades into plain English and quote repairs on their own so you aren't cornered.

Why do my downlights keep failing?

Most often it's the drivers rather than the lamps, or an integrated fitting where the two can't be separated so the whole unit goes. Poor ventilation above a ceiling shortens their life considerably, and dimmers that were never matched to the lamps will finish them off early. Worth diagnosing rather than replacing the same fitting twice.

Do you take on commercial and workshop jobs?

Yes. Unit and workshop lighting, shop and office wiring, three-phase distribution, emergency lighting installation and testing, and planned maintenance. We'll phase noisy or disruptive work around your opening hours where the job allows it.

How do I get booked in?

Ring 0114 463 0369 and you'll speak to an electrician rather than an office. Or use the quote card at the top of this page or the fuller form below — both arrive with us as you send them and we'll come back to fix a time.
